PRIZES: First, Second, Honorable Mention - in each category for each age division
BEST IN SHOW will be awarded to each age division
JUDGING will be on the basis of:
AWARD RECEPTION and display of winners will be held in November.
ANIMAL SOUND CONTEST
11:00 am • 4-H Livestock Tent
DIVISIONS: (a) Adults (b) Children 12 & under
1. Contestants will make the sounds of an animal of their choice.
2. Must use own voice; no mechanisms. Contestant gets 2 tries.
3. Accuracy and crowd response will determine winners.
ANTIQUE CAR EXHIBIT

1. Participants are encouraged to call Billy Melton in advance to receive
2. Cars must arrive BEFORE 8:15 AM (event starts at 9:00 AM). No vehicles admitted after that time.
3. Cars are to remain on exhibit until 4:30 PM.
APPLE PIE CONTEST
Must register in advance!
1. There is a limit of 12 entries. Registration is needed in advance. Note: Entry slots fill up fast.
2. Awards will be TASTE: 1st, 2nd, &
3. Pies (covered with plastic wrap or enclosed in large plastic zip bag) should be brought to the judging table 10 –11 a.m. on Old Farm Day.
4. Judging will begin at 11:30 a.m.
5. Pies become property of Old Farm Day and after judging and awards are sold by the slice for $2 ea. as an OFD fundraiser. Bakers have the option of buying back their pie.
6. Call the OFD Message Line (434) 589-9405 to register. Registrations will be accepted until we reach the limit of 12 pies.
CENTURY FARM EQUIPMENT EXHIBIT

2. Arrangements can be made to bring equipment on Thursday, September 29 or Friday, September 30. Otherwise, equipment must arrive BEFORE 8:15 AM on Saturday, October 1 (event starts at 9:00 AM).
3. Equipment must remain on exhibit until 4:30 PM.
HOMEMAKERS & GARDENERS EXHIBIT
Home Canned & Fresh Picked
Competition Guidelines
(Co-sponsored by the Fluvanna Master Gardeners; Judging by the Fluvanna Farm Bureau Women)
1. No exhibit entry fee will be charged. However, admission to Old Farm Day is required to participate.
2. Canned products must be in standard canning jars with contents labeled. (Do NOT put name on label.) Decorative labels and lids are acceptable for display purposes only. However, judging will be on the contents of the jar only.
3. Fresh picked products - bring up to three of one variety in a bowl or basket.
4. One entry per category/variety. Enter as many categories as you’d like. Exhibits should be entered in the name of the person doing the work.
5. The exhibitor is responsible for deciding on the proper category for an entry.
6. Entries must be registered on Old Farm Day from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The exhibit will be located at the FLUVANNA MASTER GARDENER'S SPACE (behind the main house).
7. Entries will be judged in two divisions:
ADULT (16 & up) YOUTH (8-15)
8. Ribbons will be placed by 1:00 p.m. No spectators permitted in exhibit area during judging.
9. Every possible care will be taken to protect your entries. However, Old Farm Day and the Fluvanna Master Gardeners assume no responsibility in case of loss or damage.
10. Entries must be picked up between 2:00 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Old Farm Day. All unclaimed entries will become the property of the Fluvanna Master Gardeners unless prior arrangements have been made.
11. Awards for prizes in each division will be:
