About Old Farm Day

Old Farm Day will be bigger and better than ever this year, as it enjoys its 24th birthday on Saturday, May 2, 2020 at Pleasant Grove Park in Palmyra, organizers said.  Among other things, they expect much more musical entertainment, more vendors and exhibits, more activities, the tasting garden will return, and of course the Farm Heritage Museum building will be open to the public.

The event runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 4.  Admission is $8 per adult, with children under 12 free.  Pleasant Grove Park is at 1730 Thomas Jefferson Parkway (Rte. 53) in Palmyra. Additional information is at 434-589-7910.  Proceeds from Old Farm Day are divided between the Fluvanna Historical Society and the Farm Heritage Museum fund.

Various musical acts will be performing on the stage.  And the local 4H will be bring back their highly-supported Cow Pie Bingo Contest.

Activities for kids are on the agenda including a potato hunt, arts and crafts, face painting, hayrides, animals to pet, a barrel train, pony rides and a corn pit and a few other surprises.

Also at Old Farm Day, there will be a contest for the absolutely best apple pie in Fluvanna County, and new this year, the best berry pie will be judged in the afternoon, with the entries all to be sold and eaten for charity. All pies will be considered a donation to the contest, and slices will be sold after the winners are announced.
