This year we will be hosting (2) pie contests:

Apple and Berry


  • Pies entered are donations to Old Farm Day

  • All pie crusts must be homemade

  • All pies must only have the specified fruit in them.  Please do not add extra ingredients such as nuts, other fruits, etc.

Apple pies will be judged at 10:00 am

Berry pies will be judged at 1:00 pm

Prizes will be awarded to the winners in each category:

1st place  - $25

2nd place - $15

3rd place - $10



1. Photographs must be submitted in digital jpg format, no less than 500kb, no larger than
3mb per photograph, formatted for either 5”x7” or 8”x10” printing.
2. Each photographer may submit up to three photographs.
3. Photographs must be taken in Fluvanna County or the surrounding Piedmont Virginia area.
4. Photographs must be emailed no later than the midnight on Monday, April 15, 2019.
Photographs must be emailed to: (contest coordinator Sharen
Montgomery) with the subject: OFD 2019 Photo.
5. Each email must include the following information per photograph:

a. Photographer’s name.
b. Photographer’s category.
c. Photographer’s email. If the photographer is a minor, include the name and email for
the photographer’s parent or guardian.
d. Photograph title.
e. Location taken.

Our judges will select the first, second and third place winning photographs for each category.  Selected photographs will be printed and on display at Old Farm Day 2019. Prizes will be awarded to the first, second and third place winners in each category.  Photographers retain their rights to their work but grant to the Fluvanna Historical Society
permission to use their photographs without restriction.

Whether a personal vegetable garden or a large commercial farming operation, there are a multitude of chores involved in tending the crops and livestock.  This year’s theme seeks to explore what for farming is . . . all in a day’s work.
